Amy Carlson

 

Amy Lynn Carlson (born July 7 1968) is an American actress known for her roles in the roles of Linda Reagan in the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods and as Alex Taylor on the NBC drama Third Watch, and Josie Watts in the NBC daytime soap show Another World.



 



 Early life



 Carlson was born in Elmhurst, [[DuPage County, Illinoisclose to Chicago She was raised in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, the daughter of schoolteacher parents, Barbara Jane (Hultman) and Robert Eugene Carlson. Carlson is of Swedish descent, but has roots from Smaland.



 



 Career



 1986-1992: College and beginning of careers



 She was introduced to Hollywood through her work as a background actor for the film Lucas featuring Charlie Sheen, Corey Haim, as well as Winona Ryder. She later joined her sister Betsy (Knox College) in Galesburg.
