Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara, was born February 28 the 28th of February, 1948. She is an American singer, actress and children's book author. In a span of over six decades she has been a part of musical theatre, television , and film, as well as performed in concert performances as a solo artist and released recordings. She is a highly respected Broadway performer. She has been awarded seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award), as well as nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards have been won through four of the Broadway cast albums in which she has starred.



 



 Many consider Peters to be the greatest Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is particularly well-known for her performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
